Ashfall Protocol vertical slice running in engine

> Ashfall Protocol — vertical slice, in engine

// How we ship

From a napkin idea to a build players finish.

Four disciplined phases keep scope honest and the fun front-loaded. You approve at every gate before we spend a single sprint.

  1. 1

    Phase 01

    Discovery & Concept

    1–2 weeks · from A$4,800

    We pressure-test the core loop, define the pillars, and lock a one-page design bible. You leave with a playable paper prototype and a fixed scope.

  2. 2

    Phase 02

    Prototype Sprint

    3–4 weeks · from A$12,000

    A greybox vertical slice built in Unity or Godot proves the fun before art. Weekly builds land in your inbox every Friday, 5pm AEST.

  3. 3

    Phase 03

    Production

    8–20 weeks · quoted per scope

    Art, audio, systems, and netcode come together in two-week sprints. Live dashboards track every task, bug, and milestone in real time.

  4. 4

    Phase 04

    Playtest & Launch

    2–3 weeks · from A$6,500

    We run moderated sessions in our Guildford Lane lab, tune difficulty from telemetry, and ship a certified build to Steam, itch.io, or console.

// Player & partner notes

Studios and players keep coming back.

A few words from the folks who shipped alongside us.

PhoenixQuestBase turned our messy prototype into a Steam Next Fest darling. The Friday builds meant we never lost a week guessing where things stood.

## Working together

Yes — on final payment you receive the full repository, project files, and every art and audio asset with a perpetual, exclusive licence. We keep nothing but a portfolio still, and only with your written okay.

Absolutely. Roughly half our projects arrive as a half-finished Unity or Godot build. We run a two-day technical audit first, then quote a realistic path to ship rather than a rewrite you don’t need.

## Scope & budget

Small polished titles typically land between A$48,000 and A$140,000 depending on platforms, multiplayer, and content volume. We quote in fixed-price milestones so there are no surprise invoices mid-production.

Primarily Unity, Unreal Engine 5, and Godot 4. We choose the engine to fit the game, not the other way around, and we’ll tell you honestly if your idea suits one over the others.

## Logistics

Our lab is on Guildford Lane, but two-thirds of our clients are remote across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. We keep core hours overlapping AEST and send recorded build walkthroughs each Friday.

Please do. Our on-site playtest lab runs sessions most Wednesdays and Thursdays. Book ahead through the contact form and we’ll have a build and a coffee waiting.
